A most enjoyable weekend..Ben Banville, the man who bought Blackbird, came up from MA. to pick up his new steel on Friday. We spent a very enjoyable weekend together and, although Ben is a seasoned musician and guitar player, he is completely new to pedal steel. This weekend gave us the opportunity to introduce Ben to the wonderful workings of the pedal steel and take the time to go through the names of the parts, show him the way to tune, set up pedals and KL's and generally let him become a little bit familiar with this new machine. Ben is a one of a kind whom I am now proud to call my lifetime friend.
Bye Bye Blackbird!

Ross, thanks!!
Howard, I haven't done double neck yet but according to all the inquiries I have received, it looks like I will be getting into it, yes. _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars

Hi Bent,
I can't think of a better way to forge a great friendship than over the building of a pedal steel guitar!...and it was worth driving a thousand miles just for the fabulous hospitality! I set 'er up when I got home and she was still perfectly in tune...and what a great sound! That single coil is DEAD SILENT! If only my strats and tele were that quiet. WOW! _________________ BenRom pedal steel, 1963 Guild Starfire III, Gretsch 5120, S.A. Robelli Strat, Fender 1957 reissue Mex. Strat, Fender Highway One Tele, Schecter Jazz-6

Ain't nothing quite like hearin' that high lonesome bent sound! |

Wow! Absolutely stunning, superb, stellar, sweet... Your best work yet, I bet!
I suppose you are feeling something else beginning with 'S' right now, Bent... "separationsångest"... |

Hey everybody you move me to shivers here...thanks so much for all your kind words.
Ben, my friend, I agree. A great new friendship was forged over the weekend. Both Judy and I were proud to be hosts to such a great guest as you.In this day and age of reservations and doubts over unfamiliar people, you stepped into our home and our family like a longtime friend and we are ever so proud that you fit right in with not only the 2 of us but with our kids, grand kids and some friends as well.
Super news that she stayed in tune on the trip!
I'll post a pic of you and the guitar when you give me the ok to do so
Folks, the pickup that Ben is talking about is actually my own BenRom single coil.
Fred, it means so much to have a builder on your level say this. It builds me up tremendously. I am glad you like my work!
Per, thanks. Again, folks, Per is the artist who designed the BenRom logo. You also notice that I have now designed the fretboard with part of the logo for the markers.
Yes, Per, I actually did feel some separation anxiety when Blackbird flew the coop. It is a big comfort to know that it found a great new home with Ben Banville _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars
