Dear Experts and Wise Ones -

Other than the difference in number of channels available for recording at the same time (2 vs eight ). Are there any other important differences betweent the Zoom R8 and the R16?

I would like to make recordings for personnal and not professional use. I can save $100 by purchasing an R8 instead of an R16. It's probably going to be the R8, but what else am I losing by getting an R8 instead of the R16?

Thank you,

S. Richard Alderson

the obvious difference other than 16 tracks vs 8 tracks is..

1- The R8 only records 2 tracks at a time while the R16 /24 record 8 tracks at a clip

2- The R8 has drum samples and a beat machine, the R16/24 does not

They both record in 16/24 bit wav...they both have on board effects.

For simple home tracking the R8 is nice.It should fit the bill nicely.

The R24 does have drum samples, the R16 doesn't.
