One of the most under-rated pickers in the biz! And he doesn't get a whole lot of recognition here on the SG forum. But he's a great guy, a good friend of mine, and a terrific Steel Guitarist. Check out this video of
The Rabitt playing Steel behind former Statler Brother Jimmy Fortune.

Bill,
I worked with the Whites after Jerry Douglas from January 1986 to October 1993 when I decided to stay in town. Steve Wilkerson was hired after me. Neither Jerry, Steve or myself auditioned. We were simply called by recommendation.

I met Rabbit 30 years ago when He was playing for the Happy Goodman Family. I was 24 or 25 years old, and know I am 54 years old. I took the job as bus driver for the Happy Goodman Family just so I could be around and learn from Steve. Steve was so kind to me. He invited me into his home and showed me a few things on the steel. The bus driving gig was short lived, but the memories will last forever for me. When I went back home I had to have an Emmons and a session 500 because that is what Rabbit was using at the time. Great player and a great person.

Rabitt was laughing about Tommy White getting the Job He was sort of honored to be in the same group as Tommy because of His accomplishment on the Pedal Steel,he like all of us know tom is one of the best and did not have any hard feelings against him,I wanted to make that clear. Steve is a really nice man and like him
You will not find a nicer man than Tommy White. I met Tommy at the ET theatre in Nashville saturday after T giving 2004,I was watching Charlie Louvins Museum on a saturday afternoon,Tom had just got a new Amp with a 12" speaker I hear this Killer steel playing going one and pretty much knew who it was before looking...
All I can say is Goodness...Smile,What a Picker;;
Thanks wanted to clear up any misconception before something got started here in Peyton..., I mean the Forum..Smile

That's a great song.

Any idea who the guitar player is? He looks a bit like Mitch Watkins, who is a long-time guitarist with Lyle Lovett. Mitch usually plays sitting down.
