I don't know about diagrams, but here's a picture of how I installed mine on the guitar I sold. I needed two cross shafts to make it happen.

I needed the second shaft because the LKR hardware wouldn't allow me to put the stop against the rear apron.

I'll post another picture of how the previous owner of my U-12 solved that problem. If you have questions you can call 8162060239 and I'll be glad to share my experience, although it's just these two guitars

Here's the one I just bought. A stop wouldn't fit where s/he put the shaft either, so s/he used a screw into the deck as a stop. This eliminates a problem I would sometimes run into: holding the knee (or engaging it) engaged with more force than the minimum would sometimes cause the pull to slip on the shaft causing me to adjust the transfer linkage (easier than adjusting the pull). Putting the screw under the pull would slam the door on that happening.

Tom Bradshaw designed a special one for me many years ago, that covered a broader area, so I was able to use it with the LKL and LKR. He may still have the plans.

For that matter, Mike, Michael Yahl has the levers in up to 9" long, if desired
