Just when I thought I was out, got the call from a north east promoter I know. Four high profile large events with a country show band (new country) this summer. Opening for Nasville artists. Right out of the blue.
Steel, fiddle, mandolin, 5th interval harmonies. Life can be so interesting. Time to dust off the instruments and put new strings on. Put the stars back in my eyes. My ZB Custom gets to sing again. This time through tubes.

That's great! Though somehow I'd gotten the idea that you didn't care much for "new country" music... And maybe even had contempt for those that played it?

Well, the beauty of being a human being is that we can change our minds,
especially when the money is right. Laughing

You got it Mike. What am I supposed to do Pete? Wait for a traditional country band opening in front of 5000 people to ask me to play? I'm a professional. Someone offers me double pay I'll play "Mary Had A Little Lamb" if they ask me to. Do I like the music? Absolutely not. Will I do the job? You bet your a$$. Meanwhile I just got the word that I will be on the bill with a tradional act (my kind of music) at the end of the year, playing some traditional country. See things work like that.

Congratulations! A musician needs to play in front of people, it's good for his self confidence.
