Tommy sure did.no matter what the song was or what the groove was he played it great and made the steel fit in with the whole landscape of the song, thats what seperates a steel guitar picker from a creative talented steel guitar master. great job Tommy, you da man. Rudy

Tommy is my steel guitar hero and I was thrilled to see this amazing player finally getting some national exposure.. Super tone. Was that our good friend Dean Parks playing guitar too...? Really thrilled for Tommy, the world needs to hear this guy play. Just the best tone and choice of notes always!!

So true Theresa..He had so many hits over the years.....Lionel Richie is a music legend. All the artists who performed with him on Friday night at the ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends in Las Vegas all seemed so excited to be up there with the legend ...The backup band made up of Nashville's finest, were superb & brought the emotion of all those great songs to the table....an amazing show that will reach a whole new audience......I will it remember for a long time....

Here's the youtube to the entire show, thanks to forumite, Mark Eaton......Many years ago when I was asked to join the Gordon Lightfoot band, I had to adapt my style of playing to suit the genre of music...This was a great show that took me back in time to some memorable hits I grew up with by a true legend...& Tommy & the rest of the fine musicians played beautifully complementing Lionel's songs with there fine musicianship...hats off to all.......Country Music & the steel guitar will reach a whole new audience.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VrFOs_Pjb4

Thanks so much for posting that link!!! I did so want to hear this show...

What great musicianship throughout - Lionel Ritchie is an amazing singer and it's great to hear Tommy covering the lion's share of the fills!

Tommy - I'm only a part of the way through watching this but your solo on 'Easy' was brilliant! I had to take a break from listening to post my vote on this thread for what is the best televised music I've heard in years.

Boy, do I envy you getting to play through all those great songs with those lovely changes! Steel guitar in the most capable hands on the Planet.
