Hi Matt, yes, that's me playing all the backing parts too. It's hard work, but sure beats Band In A Box.

Thanx gang, glad you all liked it. Very Happy

Thank you so much for posting this.
Lovely playing. And best of all, no reverb or modern trickery audible. Very Happy

And that sound coming out of the guitar. Amazing!
Is that the only guitar that can create that sound, or are there other guitars that come close?
I hope you don't mind me asking this.

Hi Peter,

There's nothing like the sound of a Rickenbacker Bakelite. I talked with Jerry Byrd weeks before he had passed and he too said that his favorite was a Pre-War 7 stringer. One of his early albums shows a picture of him with one.

The frypan from Rickenbacker also has excellent tone, but brighter. In my opinion, these two models are the best LAP steels ever made.

Aloha! Smile

What I notice immediately, is the accuracy, economy of effort, and confidence in the way you achieve your intonation. Lovely old tune and great tone. Thanks.

Aloha Derrick,

I'm curious. What is the history behind this particular Rickenbacker. Or am I being too personal Question

Aloha Norm,

This was the 1st Hawaiian steel guitar I had purchased. Got it from Island Guitars at the Ward Center for $995.00

The owner the of the shop told he got it from a collector but refused to tell me his name because this collector has sold a number of items to them.
Guess he didn't want me to wheel and deal privately with this guy. Very Happy
