Hi
Anyone know what I should ask for this. Its my dads
old Fender Deluxe. He only played in church so its cherry.
no cigarette burns or nothin. Looks like new.

Per the 2012 Vintage Guitar Price Guide the Deluxe was made from 1964-1966 and shows a value of $1,900.00 to $2,300.00. You might check eBay for closed sales to see if you can find a similar and recent sale of a Deluxe
I have a 1960 Twin that the book shows $6,500.00 to $8,000.00. I tried for over a year to sell it in eBay. No luck at all. So, what the book shows and what you might get are two different animals for sure.
I had a 1964 Deluxe like yours but with a Fender/JBL Signature series speaker (not the stock speaker, but a real period correct Fender/JBL D120F). I sold it a few years ago for $1000.00. Sometimes I wish I had it back! Was one of the best little amps I ever had. |

Nice Deluxe! Very clean.
Unfortuately, Unless you find the right buyer, this amp will bring about 2/3 the value of its Deluxe Reverb cousin. I'm thinking $1300 tops.

why would you sell it ? Not only is it a significance...I say keep it..pass it on...especially for a $1300 ...

I use one of these for standard guitar, and I have to agree with Tony. They are worth more in your possession than they are on the marketplace.
Not that it matters, but Lennon used one of these on the White Album, and this model was Glenn Frey's road amp right through the run of the Eagles in the '70s.

Given a choice, I'd choose the non reverb model over its reverb brother every time. With the absence of the gain of the tube circuit, it (to me) sounds cleaner, a tab warmer, smoother EQ, and is just a superior amp.
I would hope $1300 is more than fair if I were a buyer or seller. I also could not see selling one if it were in my possession. The only thing I could see is donating it to a lone but vocal six stringer on a steel forum  
Seriously - in my world, you are setting on a gold mine to the right buyer. If you MUST sell, advertise on Nashville's CraigsList, or put the word out to the guys who frequent the BNA engineer's pages...(like me)

It's a scrappy little rock amp. Breaks up on a dime - in the best kind of way. I'd never part with mine. I don't miss the reverb at all. Awful for clean pedal steel. Ha.
It's also light as a feather which makes it my go-to club amp for pretty much every non-steel gig I do. I use my Vibrosonic for double-duty.

I actually used to own two of these, but I sold the clean one (on the left) because I was afraid to take it out on gigs. The clean one looks bigger because of the angle I took the photo.

I use mine for low level and miked gigs with my U12 all the time and it sounds wonderful.
Good setup and a D120F...
Edit to add: mine is a -68 Reverb model...

This...would be my ideal pure country setup. A pair of Deluxes, a tele, a Dynacomp, and a BBD echo. Put an Altec in one, a JBL in the other, and tell me what key.
Pete Anderson (of Dwight Yoakum, et al fame) played this rig for a decade, and he didn't have much problem with clean tone.
Now - I am depressed, and lusting.

Ken, one of Pete's Deluxes was for sale on the web a while back. It was a reverb model with a fifty watt transformer and 6L6's. Now that will give you some cleans!
