I have a used Nashville 112 on loan from a local music store. I've been playing around with the 112's settings, trying to dial in the tone with my Sierra S8. I'm getting close and thought I'd ask other Nashville 112 owners what your settings are for lap steel. Any tips you'd want to share would be great.
Thanks, Doug |

I went ahead and bought the Nashville 112. It looks like it's brand spank'n new. The $300 price was to good to turn down. Besides, it sounds fantastic with the Sierra S8. My settings right now are: pre gain 4, low 0, mid -7, shift 700, high -3, presence 4, reverb 2 and
master gain 3. Sounds good, but I'm still experimenting. |

Yes, the 112 is a good amp for small rooms or for recording. I just used mine yesterday on a recording session and had very good results. In general, with all the Peavey steel amps, cut the mids and boost the lows for steel guitar. I've owned most of the Peavey amps in the last 30 years and all of manuals, as I remember, recommended setting the shift at 800 and cutting the mid way back for steel guitar. And a slight boost in the highs and presence. Also… it’s very important to keep the master gain above 5 or your tone will suffer. I run the master at 7 and pre gain at 4, and I use a volume pedal. If you set the master too low and the pre gain to high you’ll get a dirty tone… which some players may like. For the warmest, cleanest (IMO) sound keep the master over 5 and the pre gain under 5. _________________ My Site / My YouTube Channel
