I'm planning on making my first trip to Nashville next month and would appreciate any suggestions on hotels to stay at that would be convenient to the music venues and clubs. It's a well earned vacation so I'm looking for something nice.
thanks.

Do not stay at the Fiddlers Inn. Pan handlers, vagrants, and thieves who steal your belongings.

if you are driving and have a gps you can find most anything fast and easy, yet there are a few glitches in the gps locations at times.
for great price and location, quick on and off I-40 and briley parkway, a few exits from broadway and music valley drive, the red roof inn nashville airport, is a safe choice
no plane noise, no pan handlers, great service and low cost....and i have seen entertainers there that i would have thought had stayed at the big time hotels. budget minded stars, who'd a thunk-it!
if price doesn't matter, then there are plenty of big budget rooms, downtown and at music valley.
just my take.... i sleep cheap..........
xountry.....

Hey Jon, we go to Nashville alot so here is my favorite places. The Renaissance is downtown and is within walking distance to all the clubs its also a little pricy but very nice. The Hilton is also within walking distance but is more expensive than the Renaissance. These two put you right in the action and resturants.

For a 12 to 15 dollar cab ride and a more reasonable price room we stay at the Hampton Inn on West End Avenue. Free parking and a nice place. Their is also a Courtyard on West End that is nice and is across the street fron the Hampton. These are within 2 miles of the clubs but I would not suggest walking late at night because of panhandlers and if you drive you have to pay around 10 bucs to park so for us a cab is the way to go and safe.

Hope this helps

I stayed at the Courtyard several times before I moved up here...nice place and a decent area. Parking is better/safer on West End than downtown, in my opinion.

There is a Hampton Inn downtown on 4th Ave., across the street from the Hall of Fame. They have a free controlled-access garage for parking. It's two blocks from Broadway, and a cheap cab ride to other parts of the city. Their rates are prob the most reasonable for the location. When are you planning your trip?

The Comfort Inn on Demonbreun Street. About a ten-minute walk (or $7 cab) to Lower Broadway. Reasonable rates, clean, quiet, has a pool, etc. Neigbourhood feels safe. Restaurants and pubs close by. Your best bet. Check them out online.

Edit: I just re-read your post and it seems like you're not too concerned about cost. Therefore, one of the big chains close to Broadway will work just fine for you.

we stay out near the Airport , it's an easy ride into town or OTHER locations north..

We use the Windham/Wingate chain..clean, quiet.consistent , sometimes offer exceptional rates...

MONEY Matters...

From the Airport

40 West to 65S..first exit 2nd ave..to Broadway downtown area...takes maybe 10 min at best...it will take longer to park !

We will be back in town early May for a few days...some social fun and some business...Tues night May 8, I will be over at Douglas Corner with a local songwriter I work with now and then.

good places to go..

Obviously Mon nights at the Station Inn..12 street..get there very early if you actually want to get in, it's real crazy now, the line forms at 6 pm..the doors don't open until 7..everyone wants to see Vince !

Sunday nights Roberts at 10 pm, the Don Kelly band..

Tuesday nights. Music City Bar across from the Opry..After the Opry show..Usually Music City Playboys, Randy Mason's group...check the schedule...

We usually stay north, at the Long Hollow/Goodletesville exit on I65. Not too far from Hendersonville and Bobbe Seymour's store, too.
