Here is what I have, for me to use a peterson setting thiers or a modified one I have to set the referance to 445.5 to play on the fret if I dont I end up half way off the fret sharp to play in tune with the band any band for that matter. I cant figure this out and it is driving me nuts! now I am using the first strobo stomp that came out so I dont know if it has issues or what. HELP!! Sad

The Peterson would have to be totally out of calibration for that.

Have you tried tuning with a different tuner? That would be my next step if I were out with the Peterson.

I use a Strobe O Flip and I have several others and the Peterson agrees with the others.

Jerry you may have a guitar with frett board off a little. Sometimes those things need to be trimmed to get the dim
right for the guitars scale. Try harmonics at the 12 and 24 and see if its ringing there on the money.

I have two completely different kinds of shobud fret boards. Putting them side by side they get completely off down the neck. I mean one fret will be a quarter inch past the other one.

Jerry, when you tune up and play along with cds at home, do you have the same problem? Or does this only happen when playing with the band? If that's the case, it's probably not you, it's the band that needs to get in tune. use your own tuner, I use a chromatic tuner, not a Peterson, and use the Newman chart to tune. If I'm playing with a band and it seems like I'm not in tune, I know that the problem is not me. The others in the band are not in tune. Lots of guitar players are pretty careless about tuning. I don't hesitate to remind them to re-tune. Really, all it takes is a single guitar player, playing loud, to make every one else sound out of tune.

I know I will get some flap for this lol, I tune 440 all the way for everything. not enough difference in the tuning to make any difference. now if you watch the tuner it will drive you nuts. just tune it 440 leave it be and you will be more in tune

Jerry, if one or more guitars is a Strat, that could be the problem.
Reminds me of the old joke about the out of tune fiddler. Never noticed how bad his intonation was, sawing away all night never getting near pitch. It got so bad, even the steel player noticed

Id be checking the scale length and making sure that you have th right boards..If this is on a D10 and they are two different lengths...Youre definitely outta whack..
