When I was a youngster I used to listen to a song and I remember the chorus. But cannot seem to find out who recorded it. It went "Do you mind when you go out that door go softly, do you mind if you leave me sleeping." |

I googled the lyric and came up with Frankie McBride 1967. Can't find any audio or lyric page. I don't recall the song or Frankie McBride but he was from Ireland and had a #2 song "Five Little Fingers" with "Do You Mind If You Leave Me Sleeping" on the B side _________________ www.facebook.com/countrydaveharmonson |

I think it was Johnny Horton or Lefty Frazell, maybe Dave Dudley, I am hoping someone will know. |

"Do You Mind If You Leave Me Sleeping."
Is it me, or is there something grammatically wrong with that statement? It doesn't sound right. |

Go to youtube...type: Matt Monro Softly As I Leave You...could be it. This song was done by Elvis too, but Matt did it best. |

Chris, I don't think that is the one he is talking about. The words he remembers are not the anywhere in the song you posted. And...

No way could Matt Munro be mistaken for Dave Dudley or Lefty Frizell. I still think Dave H, had it right. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Hi Richard. Point taken for sure. It's just that Niels doesn't seem convinced.

Maybe Hank Snow, on the album from a "crack in this boxcar door"? Does anybody know the best source for discographies? _________________ Die with Memories. Not Dreams.

At least there's something chronologicaly wrong, he or she wouldn't say this while sleeping. Better: "Dou you mind if you let me sleep again?"
Never mind I'm only trying to be funny. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |
