Anyone know of a good E9th teacher in the Chico area or nearby?

If you can't find someone on here you next best bet is to see if there's a convention nearby sometime and go out to network.

No chances of any convention or show anywhere close to Chico.

I think you're going to have to look around Sacramento and make an occasional drive down there for lessons. Of course, I am not sure who there gives lessons. Maybe Paul Sutherland.

Check with the Sacramento Western Swing Society. They have their own Website you can Google. They have several Steel Guitar Members. They have a monthly get together in Rancho Cordova at the Machinist Hall (last Sunday of the month).

Actually, the first Sunday of the month. I guess Paul Sutherland sent you a message. A lot of players will drive quite a ways to take a long (couple of hours) lesson when they can't find someone local. Take the wife and let her go window shopping while you learn and take her to lunch or dinner and make a day out of it.

Thanks everyone. This is for my son, Evin, who lives near Chico. He's willing to drive for lessons. He has a nice ext E9th MSA.

Pete Grant is in Roseville or Auburn. Not sure if he is still teaching but here is his website:
http://www.petegrant.com/

Not sure if these guys teach but Larry Tracy is in Nevada City and John McConnell is "just down the road" in Yuba City. Both are on the forum.

Not sure if he gives lessons or not, but Frank Carter is in Downieville. That's seems to be fairly accessible to Chico.

CLICK HERE FOR FRANK'S WEBSITE and CONTACT INFO

I think Frank and Fran Carter did a permanent move to Yuma last fall.
