When playing live I use an RP 150 for effects.I use settings I got from the forum here and I am very happy with them .
When it comes to recording I am using a Zoom R16 .Would any of the experienced recording engineers like to share some good reverb/chorus/delay patches suitable for steel. I would be using these as Send/Return effects. Many thanks Bryan

I have been using my R16 to record group rehearsals using all 8 tracks dry. Its a quintet and I need more input channels haha. I like reverb and delay as effects sends generally. I like the BritHall reverb (#12) and the Delay 3/4 (#4). Set delay time by tempo. I send no more than 50, usually around 30~40. There are a ton of great effects in this thing, and I am just at the tip of the iceberg as far as using it to its full potential!

Thanks Clete ,sounds good to me .I suppose its a matter of finding a few settings that you like and sticking with them.Trouble is you could spend more time playing with recorder than playing PSG.
