While I use a Peterson tuner, I have a friend who has started playing steel. He asked me if I had heard of the Planet Waves strobe tuner and I have not. He is not wanting to put a lot of money into playing the steel until he gets improvement in playing. Have any of you heard of this tuner and what do you know about it? Does it compare to a Peterson Strobe tuner? Just need some input from anyone who might know about these tuners. |

Hey Paul, is the name of the tuner on the iPhone named "Tune Up" it's the only stand alone Planet Waves tuner I could find and it's only .99 cents?
Thanks.

Paul,
Are you talking about the Peterson (9.99)or the Plant Waves (.99). The Peterson looks like it has tempered tunings, but not for steel... |

Hey! I have been using Cleartune with the Newman e9 temperament from Peterson and it has replaced my dedicated tuner hands down. Only thing is I wish it had a button to store the presets or rather change them without going into the setup screen. Just a minor complaint but it makes it difficult to check my 6 string on the fly.
But actually I am writing because the Planet Waves app(everywhere I have looked so far) doesn't seem to be available in the domestic market. Does anyone have a link to a download? |
