This handsome Deluxe 8 appears to be from the late sixties, as the pots are date coded to 1966, and the finish looks to be the "poly" that replaced lacquer on Fender guitars in 1968. The serial number is 24XX, and I have no idea how to reference a date of manufacture from that! It is all complete with OHSC, legs (fully operational, with rubber tips intact), and no parts changed or modified, near as I can tell. There are some finish cracks and dents (mostly on the bottom), with very minor pitting on the chrome; I would grade it as being in Very Good cosmetic conditon. The case is clean, with some scuffing on the leather end trim, and the interior is in great condition with no "stink". It has been a great steel guitar for me for many years, but I am utterly convinced that one neck is not enough! I would be pleased to use this as trading material toward a T-8 or D-8 Stringmaster. Otherwise, $1000 or best reasonable, respectfully submitted offer. Thanks y'all!
