hi jim....that looks like a great old good one from the magic era. interesting that the atom symbols have a white one and not a bluish one.
and of course the emmons decal era is neat.
i bet you'd get your buddy emmons on if 'you' were playing it!

On the original run of the gloss black fretboards, the atom symbol color was more turquoise than blue, and always faded to a near greeish-white. I've owned quite a few guitars of this vintage and pretty much all had that characteristic.

It's cool to be original, but for stage purposes I prefer the newer satin black 'boards to the high gloss, way less glare off stage lights.

That's a really cool axe, there. It almost screams "I sound good." Smile

Here is the set up work I did for Jim a few months ago:

I corrected lowering problems on the E9 neck. I re-tuned the E9 changer. I set and timed the pedal stops correctly. I lightly cleaned and lubed the E9 changer and roller nuts. I corrected offending changer spring issues and the worst E9 rodding issues. I set the neck screw torque values, and headstock torque values. E9 tune-ability issues were corrected.

It was a repair and partial set up.. A complete custom set up would involve both necks and many other procedures. Worth doing for sure.

Just curious, are there four small holes in the rear apron and if so, what are they for?

The holes were from screws that were too long. It was done by Duane Mars who added either two or three knees.A rare mistake for sure. They don't hurt anything.
I played this guitar for years and it's a good one. I traded it to a friend who traded me back my 70 PP which I played all the years I was on the road. I just want my old friend back who was with me in a lot of memories.
Emmons set up all original except for the added knee's.
Bryan....Sorry about having to cancel

Someone needs to buy this Emmons. Jimmy is getting too old to carry it around and I don't want to see him get hurt or he'll start whining and complaining.
It is a nice guitar and when John Widgren worked on it, it got better yet.
