Anybody who wants to come and play, who has not yet signed up, please send me an E-mail, and anybody who wants to come and watch and listen and meet everybody, you're welcome to do so.

The jam will take place at the same place as last year, the Sam Ash Music store in Cerritos. The address is 12651 Artesia Blvd, on the corner of Artesia and Bloomfield, one block south of the Bloomfield exit of the 91 freeway.

As always, admission is free.

Is there any chance of having a Jam like in the East where there is a Band that the players could play and interact with. Hope to see you there if I am feeling OK. Will be starting some Chemo shortly.

This will be my first one - just started reading the forum a few months back. Can someone explain the format to me? Thanks!

Kevin, we sit in a circle and take turns soloing over Band in a Box tracks.

Where in L.A. are you? I'm 2 short blocks from the Glendale city limits, near Eagle Rock and Highland Park.

Hey Billy, I'm sorry you are ill, and I hope the Chemo doesn't wipe you out.

We're doing this with Band in a Box. There are advantages and disadvantages to both BIAB, and to doing it with a live band. A live band can be more exciting, but BIAB is a lot easier, knows all the times, and doesn't get tired or drop time.

IMHO - the major advantage to using BIAB at the LA Jam is that through the use of a projector in the past or as last year a direct VGA feed off of my laptop, we can put the BIAB chord chart up on the big screen monitor that is viewable to all the players so everyone can see the arrangement of the song as I'm sure everyone does not know all the songs that get called out over the two days we are there. I know I don't!!! Smile

I should have my steels here in California by then maybe I can make the jam. I'm living in the Simi Valley area and not sure how far that would be.

Sounds fun! I'm in mid city for now - probably moving in your direction soonish. I'm recording all weekend up in Burbank in fact.

Saturday from 10 AM till around 5ish (The store is open till 8 PM.) Sunday the store is only open from noon till 6.

Once again, everybody is invited to come and watch, but if you want to play, you need to send me an E-mail, and let me know which day you want to play, and I'll sign you up.

So far, there are still open slots for both days. But it's first come first served.

Please put me down for Saturday morning. I'll have to get on the road by about 1 or 2 pm, as I will be driving to Nor Cal, so I won't be there all day. This should be interesting.

This event is not exactly open to the public, but it's not closed either, and anybody who wants to come and just watch and listen and meet everybody, without playing, is more than welcome.
