Very Happy

The white paint looks like it may have actually been applied at the factory; it seems to have helped preserve the bakelite frets, none of which have chipped. The top looks like it also was painted, and then most of the paint was scraped off. This is the Spanish neck version, but it looks like it has had a raised nut on there a long time. I removed the raised nut, but the neck is far too bowed to play or intonate in the spanish style.

Now I need to find a couple metal coverplates, or someone who can reproduce them; likewise, a pre-war pickup, although I may be interested in a modern reproduction. And is it possible to straighten a Bakelite neck?

This one is going to keep me entertained for a while, methinks.

Mike: I really like the decal too, looks like Mae West in the 1940's as drawn by Petty.
Paul: I sent you an email.

Thanks folks!
Grins, Peter
