Nice looking guitars, Brad - I'm curious about Carco's Dual. Might you or someone else tell us a little of its' history, the serial #, $price and if it sold?? Thanks, John H. |

Wish I could have been there...Jim Flynn had a couple of mine set up at his table, but not being in the non-pedal area, I don't know how much attention they might have gotten. _________________ John Allison

John,I gave your steels on Jim's table a good looking over. Very nice. As far as I know Carco didn't provide any information about the double neck. It didn't seem to attract much attention and I don't believe it sold. |

After crashing when I got home, I just woke up...but think I'll go back for another snooze, as sleeping is not on the agenda at a steel guitar convention!
It was a great weekend! There's so many people to thank, and I'll be posting a thank you & recap post soon. Howard will also be posting some awesome videos. I hope some more folks who attended will also share their stories. So stay tuned!
Excuse me while I go catch up on some more zzzz's....

Was the Non-Pedal Session in a different room this year? From the pics I've seen, it's a much sexier setting. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

Same room...we added a back drop with stage lights, and it really looked sharp! |

i will add that ALL those involved with the non-pedal sessions did an outstanding job - and yes, the room was transformed into a wonderful intimate setting A LOT better than the old "hotel conference room look" - the pro lighting and Bose sound system was top notch all the way - after working some theater gigs, i am more aware of how critical good lighting and presentation are to the experience and this was all around a great success.
I tried my best to support all the players in the room one way or another - i got everything Billy Robinson had, went down and bought Reese's 12 string CD and about $100 at Scottys table loading up, and really, the "sleeper" highlight was Kevin Browns set (and i got his CD also) - he did a great memorial to Steinar to finish his set - he was funny, entertaining and you could tell he's done A LOT of busking and could work a crowd.
I know Rick would be proud and hope we can keep this going - i'm gonna send some funds as soon as i find out how much i ended up spending this weekend _________________ '65 Sho-Bud D-10 Permanent • '54 Fender Dual-8 • Clinesmith T-8 • '38 Ric Bakelite • '92 Emmons D-10 Legrande II |

Two Jackson steels, a 10 string and 8 string:
Rose Sinclair and Maurice Anderson in the Non Pedal Room:
The Benoit Resonator Guitars room had the best jam sessions going on. A highlight among many for me was Nelson Trout and Kevin Brown (among many others).

Some of Carroll Benoit's artwork, cleverly disguised as resonator guitars.
Note the knob on the left side of this guitar. It controls an adjustable baffle that allows the player to control the amount of tone sent through the sound holes. A cool idea; you could definitely hear the difference.
