I think Gordon rode that Old Gray Mule off to Hillbilly Heaven several years ago. I remember knowing him in the late 50's and early 60's out here in So. Calif. A great entertainer. He had the nickname of "The Mule" ???

Well, that video musta been from afore my time.
I bought HILLBILLY JAZZ on LP when it first came out, and Gordon Terry is on that fine album, as well as Doug Jernigan.
June Carter was such a cut-up. I remember opening for Johnny Cash, and when June was performing, she leaned over the edge of the stage to a feller and said, "What do you think yer gonna see (looking up at her skirts from the floor)? All I got is bloomers", which she proceeded to swish around. _________________ 1979 MSA U12 Pedal Steel

Gordon was one of the very few state-side acts that played at the Top Hat (NCO) Club Clark AF, Philippines between 1964-66. A highly versitile and entertaining musician and vocalists, and he put on a terrific show, that was a real hit with the audience. |
