I know this is, in large part, old news to most of you, but I recently received my Steeler's Choice seat from Mr. Rollans. I cannot say nice enough things about Dan's craftmanship and his seats. I went with the Sidekick w/ the back and the powerstrip and was floored when I took it out of the box.
It's like sitting in a Cadillac. It's Sturdy, Comfortable and looks great.
After playing over 500 shows the last two years sitting on a busted up seat that barely even held my 165 lbs, I'm kicking myself that I didn't spend the money for one of these years ago.
I've been woodsheddin' in my studio non-stop without the slightest back ache and can't wait to hit the road with this thing.

| nice brett. it's really a relief to finally have a good seat after struggling with different heights and shapes for a long time. i remember when i first heard about pak-a-seats i jumped on one..a sho-bud which i still use today after 40 yrs. i have one of those also (sidekick) and like it for longer sit down gigs and love the power strip. it ill improve your playing. |

| I had Dan to custom make my seat . My seat is longer . I think mine is 6/8 '' longer than standard . It gives more room for the strings etc. I think it's the Rolls Royce of seats . Thanks Dan for making a great seat . G.P. |

That looks like the twin of my black SC seat - my two Steelers' Choice seats have given me years of service and are still as comfortable as the day I got them.
I chose to remove the compartment-dividers from the interior - I found there was far more room then and I probably carry for too much stuff as a result!
It's a great product and I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else should I ever need another steel-seat. It's hard now to remember what life was like before such specialised equipment was available but I suppose everyone managed...

I am sure there are other Great seats out there, but
Steelers Choice seats are worth every penny IMO. I
no longer mind sitting and playing for a few hours
because of the back support I get from this seat. A
comfortable player is a better player.

One of mine is black and my other one is the same colour as Dave's! As I used to have a Sapphire Blue Emmons it was a match - one for each guitar, 'though they often got a bit mixed up due to circumstances....
That blue Emmons is long-gone, but both seats remain!

| These seats are the best and the Rollans will stand behind them for life. I have dealt with Ken and Dan on past issues and have to say I felt they went overboard to help me. Nothing but great things to say about the seat or the people. |

| Hi everybody, my wife just bought me a steelers choice seat the Easy Rider model, it was used but in excellent condition, but the clamp that locks the legs in place just dosent seem to work, upon closer inspection this part looks like a barn job that someone made badly out of something from home depot. When tightened all the way up the legs are crooked! what is this part supposed to look like, and does it get tightened all the way up, and shouldnt it be pretty heavy duty material, every one raves about these seats so im guessing this part is incorrect any help or advice would be greatly appreciated |

No problem in that area on either of mine, but I do find that sometimes I need to rotate the bracket thingie a half-turn (180 degrees) before tightening the wing-nut as it's not mounted centrally.
If you have it the correct way around the legs will, of course, be exactly vertical when they're locked in place.
Can you post a photo, Bryan? I suppose it's possible that someone has tinkered with the one you have, but I can't imagine why they would!

| I called Steelers choice today but had to leave a message, Ill get back to them next week, Upon even further inspection I realized this is not the bracket from the factory, its just thin aluminum and the holes are cut badly. Im just real excited to try out my seat, got the weekend off and a gig next week and everyone knows how it is when you get new gear,steelers never grow up when new gear is involved! Im going to try and rig something up temporarily and try and get the real part. cause i love this seat and can tell it will be great. Then its time to burn the drum throne Just curious, what different types of leg locking mechanisms do the other seat manufacturers use? |

I want to thank everyone for the knid words about myself and Steelers Choice. I have made it my goal to carry on the business in the same great manner in which my dad,Kenn Rollans, founded and operated since 1978. It really makes it all worth while knowing my freinds(customers) are enjoying our seats.
I just returned about 2 hours ago, from the Texas show. It was, as usual, GREAT!!!. I have left Bryan a voice mail.We will get his seat lined out!! | Hello again, thank you everyone for your help and thoughts, Both Dan and Ken called me back about my leg clamp, they wanted to help me out even though I bought my seat used, Now That is customer service, spoke to Dan and ended up making my own Clamp out of a piece of Oak with a steel plate on top and a nice big fender washer under the wing nut. Man it is solid as a rock. I love this seat, my back loves this seat, It is just great! I also have to say that everybody I have dealt with on this forum with all my goofy beginner questions has just been wonderful, helpful, friendly and a real great community to be involved with, I've played guitar for forty years and a jillion bands and many of them were not so helpful and encouraging, Im learning at a great pace thanks to all this help and especially Mickey Adams great videos You all should be proud of yourselves like i am to be part of this group. I would love to find some steel players in my area which is western new york outside of buffalo, if anyone knows about someone drop me a note Thanks Again, see ya back here soon. |

Steelers Choice is open,and as has been open since 1978. My father Kenn Rollans started Steelers Choice in 1978. I joined him in 1989,designing the Sidekick seat.
We operated together until 2006 when he retired and turned the business over to me. I have been open and operating daily since that time and have no plans to discontinue building "Steelers Choice Seats". Hi Dan. I looked in to my emails further and the email I came up withw was bjsbars@hotmail.com so it must have been through BJS. They must have advertised youre seats I beleve on their website. That pesron informed me that he wasnt going to have any seats for sale so it was a misunderstanding. I thought I was contacting youre company directly through the website since they had youre products on their website. It looks like they updated their website since I was in touch with him around the first of January. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I was just surprised and didnt know what was going on.

I've got three and love them all. I used one on our deployment last year and traveled all over the Middle East with it. They're great seats.
