I understand that there is a lot of road construction going on around the area. Myself, I always take 114 east off of I35W but understand it is in shambles. If anyone knows a better way to get there to make it easier on fellow steelers it would be appreciated.

Paul, there is a lot going on up there. Come down 35E, to Geo Bush Tpke west (161), to 114. That will bring you in from the east which will get you to the hotel before hitting the construction, imho.

Another way would be to stay on I35 E to 635, go
West to Freeport Parkway, go South about one block and turn left on Esters Rd and follow to the hotel.

Richard, we always come in on 114 from the west. Are we gonna hit the construction? If so how would be a better way for us? We can do I20, but don't know how to get there that way. I don't know if you knew it, but we're country bumpkins!

Stay off of 183 from DFW to Hurst if you can. I have made that maddening drive 3 times round trip since yesterday afternoon and have one more tomorrow morning. Evil or Very Mad

Mike K, just take 35E from Hillsboro into Dallas and then John Carpenter Freeway west(183) to where it changes into 114. The time of day matters, before 9:00 AM or after 3:00 PM is stop and go.

I have been told 114 East coming in from I35W is awful. It looks like we will come in from I35E to 635 West. It is also time to run the clocks up on Saturday night. Not too much sleep getting up early Sunday morning.

The only good ways are

I-35E...Dallas side...
Coming from the south (Waco) take Dallas split to I-30 west to 161 north to 114 west..

Coming from Gainesville...take I-35E south to George Bush Northwest Hwy east which turn into 114 east or 635 west...DO NOT TAKE 121!

Coming from the east on 30. Take 30 to to (161 north) to 114 west

I-20...take 408 which turns into loop 12 then get on I-30...see above directions

This will get you there with some sort of ease. Remember this is DFW so don't come during rush hour..
Before 9:00am and after 3:45pm.....

Good Luck everyone and have a safe trip here and back....

David, we get on 114 back at I think it's Jacksboro and stay on it all the way to Esters Blvd. The only construction I find when I research it, is a few off ramps. Is that western portion of 114 going to be any worse than years before? I'd really like to go that way because we are familiar with it, but I can do I20 if 114 is really tore up.

I would stay off 114 but that's your choice.
construction all they way from this side of Keller all the way to the Airport and 50 mph and radar every mile or so along the way.
Stay safe.

Thanks a bunch David, we may try the I 20 route. Not a lot of difference in distance from home I don't think.

Danny, it's not closed off, but busy. Just don't attempt 114 during rush hour as David said. You can come out 20, take the I-30 split east of Weatherford. Take 360 north in Arlington, and come up thru the airport (DFW) south entrance. Only cost you a dollar or two, unless you take the maintenance road thru the airport & stay under 40mph. One of the better kept secrets.. Anyway, it'll dump you at the north entrance/exit and just short or 114, which you can take going east and be 1 exit away Smile

Hope to see you this weekend.

I took 121 business to 114 going to the show Thursday evening. I took 114 west going home. There is construction around the airport anyay you go. Going home on 114 west was awful. Just pay close attention to the signs.
