Listening to the Jimmy Buffet channel on Sirius last night I heard Mr. Nesmith's take on the old Linda Ronstadt hit "Different Drum".
Great steel playing! Was that Red Rhodes?

BTW, this Margaritaville is quite the pedal steel friendly place, often in conjunction with steel pan, a cool and intriguing combination.

Not quite classic country, but that's OK with me.

Chris , the old Linda Ronstadt hit was written by Nesmith many moons ago .

I was just gonna say that myself. Michael wrote it in 1965. That would be pre Monkees I believe

With Davey Jones death in the news lately I've wondered what happened to Mike Nesmith. I've always liked his songwriting.
