How many of you guys have had the chance to work with the iconic legend Mr.Ray Price??
I have heard some great playing on the Toob featuring The Big "E", Mike Cass and Ron Elliot all playing to an awesome standard, But Ray has been around for quite some time and to my one remaining (working) ear he sounds as good as ever...... I am sure lots of you have had the privilidge of working with him??  |

| Good music, and great entertainers never die. They are like fine wine, improving with age. Stop and think, their music will be around forever. Dare I say that some of this "so-called" talent we hear today will be nothing more than a "flash in the pan" as it doesn't have heart, soul, purpose, distinctive melody. Oh well, I may be an opinionated arse, but I think you get the picture. |

I had the honor to work for Ray for a few months in 2003. Nothing like playing Heartaches By The Number with Ray.

| I had the privilege of working with Ray for a short while in 1967. It was my first road job. What a thrill it was to be on stage with "the Chief" while he performed. |

Bob Tuttle is right!What a thrill to be up there with"the Chief"when he is singing!
I was lucky enough to get to play electric guitar with Ray for six months in 1986...Bobbe Seymour got me the job(for which I am eternally grateful)and was the steel player on the first couple of trips,and our friend Billy Johnson was on bass...then we had Steve Palousek on steel after Bobbe got too busy to go...when Steve couldn't make it a couple of times Buddy Emmons went with us and played steel...I stayed until I was offered a job with George Jones...went back and worked with Ray a couple of times when Blondie called...once on steel...loved it every time!I'd go again if they needed me! |

The late, great Doug Campbell played with The Chieif in the late 60's for a while if I am not mistaken.

I was with Faron on a short tour with the Chief and a couple other acts in 1980 and his steel player got in a car wreck on the way to the Nashville airport, so I got to be a sub Cherokee Cowboy for a few days. Yep, what a thrill.

| Frank,I recognize Wade Kirby on electric guitar...he played with Ray between Kerry Marx and me,I think...he is a songwriter now and wrote a CMA Single of the Year for George Strait,IIRC... |

Wow Steve! The Chief and "The Voice" Gosdin ! That must be extreme job satisfaction to look back on! ?
