Has anyone experience any buzz/line noise from their Fishman JD Aura pedal ?? I was doing a session on the weekend and the engineer wanted to mic my Beard MA6 and also use the Aura pedal -- it sounded great but we were getting some real noise from the pedal. I changed out the power supply and put the battery back in with no change... You couldn't hear it while I was playing of course - but it bugged the engineer not surprisingly.
Before I contact Fishman I wanted to hear if anyone else had experienced something of this nature - maybe a component in the pedal is failing ? The JD pickup was installed by Beard and I was using GL cables.
This pedal is about a year old. _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

Is the pedal noisy in other environments or just this particular location?

Hi Howard ... it has always seemed pretty quiet when I have used it live... first time I have used it in a studio.. it could well have been peculiar to the environment I was in. Have you heard of anyone having noise issues with the unit ? _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

I suppose it could be intermittent. I've only experienced pedals that were consistently "good" and pedals that were consistent/obviously "bad". Cables may be an issue or just RF noise in that studio.
If you cannot get it to fail at home/live it may well be induced by the studio environment. I suggest adding a hum/noise eliminator to your arsenal of tools. It'll be useful.

If it just makes a hum while at that studio and only there, its likely you came across a grounding issue with the studio's other gear - not an uncommon problem when running direct. Easy test is to see if it makes noise someplace else - if so its your unit, if not its at the studio. EbTech and others make a transformer ground lift isolation box just to eliminate such problems, and its a good thing to keep handy anyway. _________________ 67 Shobud Blue Darling III, scads of pedals and such, more 6 strings than I got room for

Cheers Ken, I'm inclined to think it was the studio that caused the noise issue ! Although I didn't have any issues with my Steel rig, just the Aura pedal. _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9
