This post is made at Tom's request. First, let me say that I'm really pleased with this product and Tom's excellent service. One of the best features of the rack is the light weight.
The tab Rack basically clips into two independent leg brackets. It is held in place fairly securely but occasionally if I bump the rack accidently, it tends to come loose from the brackets. I have a beautiful lacquer Willy guitar and I wanted to ensure the rack didn't damage the guitar if it ever came loose from the brackets. So, I made a very easy, neat and affordable modification to ensure that won't happen. Basically I drilled 4 small holes in the bottom flange of the rack and tied it securely to each leg bracket with small nylon slip ties.
The following picture shows the rack mounted on my guitar. It can easily hold 4 sheets of tablature if needed. The second picture shows how a leg bracket clips onto the guitar leg. Look close and you'll see the nylon slip tie rack retainer.
Special Note: Normally the tab rack sits very close to the top of a guitar and clears all the tuning keys. However, because the tuning keys on my guitar are closer to the front apron than "normal", Tom custom made taller leg brackets to clear all the keys. Great service Tom!.

I love it!
Tom sold be one a few years ago. It is great. Gives a good place to keep tuner, charts or whatever you might need. It beats the hell out of a music stand for sure.
Tom is just a great guy all the way around. I sure hope I get to meet him in person someday.

I keep mine on my home steel and may make the same mod.. The only problem is that it sits too low.. and interferes with playing clear harmonics... maybe longer brackets like your are the next project |
