ok--received RPrice Shuffles via email. Loaded the compressed file. Extracted the file. Sent it to PGmusic root folder. I see RP shuffles is there. opened up BIAB. Opened Styles. Clicked Re-Build. After re-build finishes... click Other Styles....it aint there. or anywhere.
BTW, ive got windows 7, BIAB 2011 ultra pack external hard drive, new laptop i5 8gb ram.
Also, when I attempt to open the RP shuffle file by itself from PGmusic root folder, window says I need to purchase /install Microsoft Office 2010 to do so. Apparently
its included in the laptop but not activated. A product code # is required to activate which havent a clue about and was not in the box. Goin to Frys' now to deal with it. Is this the problem?? |

Can't see what Office would have to do with opening a BIAB file of any of .sgu,.mgu or .sty types.
I don't really have knowledge of how BIAB sets up their directory system on the hard drives they sell but on regular versions or updates to BIAB, style files MUST be put in the root directory C\bb. _________________ Rebel |

Hey Steven,
I think you may have put the files in the wrong folder. They should be put in the bb folder on your C drive. Try moving them there and then doing a re-build of the styles again. |

If your BIAB is on a seperate Hard drive you may have to put them into the /bb folder on your external drive, which ever letter is given to that drive, e.g. F ?? |

Right, this is the UltraPack with eternal HD. It's location is E/Ultrapack. And that's where I'm sending the imported style to. And it appears to be there in the ultrapack folder. Yet Re-build in the Style window will not access it from there.
If problem's not solved this weekend guess I'll call PGMusic tech support monday.
The imported Style shows up as a .doc file and I'm told Word or MS office 2010 is needed to open it.This new laptop has a 60 day free trial for MS office 2010 so that shouldn't be an issue either. |

Are you sure you are importing the correct files? The Ray Price Shuffles pack that b0b sells here should have 8 .STY files, 1 .SGU file, and 1 .DOC file.
The .doc file is simply a document that tells you what is included in the package. (And you would need to have Word, or another word processor installed on your computer to open it.)
The OTHER files are the ones that need to go into your main directory folder.
If I'm not mistaken, the BIAB folder should be named "bb" regardless of which drive it is installed on.
In your message you keep referring to "the" style file (singular) that you are putting in that folder. This tells me that you are missing something, because there should be 9 files that go into your directory folder. (10 if you include the .doc file too) |

Dave, yes those are the files imported. I have the UltraPlusPAK 2011 on the separate hard drive. So the main folder is titled on my computer as UltraPakPLUS not BB. However, there is a sub folder listed in the UltraPakPLUS folder titled BB, along with other filefolders i.e. PGMusic,RealBand,PDFmanuals, etc. I have been only able to copy/paste the imported styles to this main folder(UltraPlusPAK). But I am unable to send it further to another subfolder i.e. BB filefolder from there.
I did send not only the DOC file but several of the Style files as well to the main folder (UltraPakPLUS) but no cigar. |

I go to My Computer, right click on your E drive(BIAB), thenn you'll see BB, & put them into that folder.. BIAB should recognise them with a rebuild..
hope this helps. |

ok-- problem solved. all i needed to do was drag and drop STY files to the BB folder...or cut+paste. silly me.
These RP styles nailed the feel. Sound great. They are very bare bones basic though and it would be nice to figure out how to modify them if possible. Honky tonk piano fills, open the drums up in B sections, etc. Probably a thread on this.
thanks y'all |
