I am thinking of buying a Dobro and not sure if I should buy a metal body or wood body dobro. It would be used primarily for bluegrass.
Looking for suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

I don't personally play Dobro but I prefer the sound & appearance of wood. Check these out before you buy, www.benoitguitars.com

Wood body (mahogany), square neck, spider bridge, soild peghead, round screenholes. If it fits you budget, try out a pre-war Dobro Model 27 or Model 45, as a "benchmark" for a bluegrass resonator guitar -- use that as a basis for comparison with anything else you might try -- new or old.

Definitely wood for bluegrass. Regal makes some great (sound good and not too expensive) dobros that are excellent for your first one. Of course I am biased as I have one, an RD-45.
