Those of you that have tried the new Fender Classic Series VP, opinions please.
Also why a 500k pot over a 250K, as most seem to prefer? What size pot does the Goodrich #120 have?
Thanks..Bill _________________ Bill Ford S12 CLR, S12 Lamar keyless, Misc amps&toys Sharp Covers

The Goodrich and all other "Pedal Steel" volume pedals such as the Emmons, Sho-Bud, Zum, Franklin, etc all use a 500k pot. The 500K seems to work better with the higher resistance of Pedal Steel Guitar pickups.
Guitar and lap steel pickups are usually less than 10K and some even less than 5K, where a Pedal Steel guitar pickup usually is over 15K and can even be as high as 30K. |

The lower the pot value, the more highs get taken away from the pickup's tone. Hot pickups like humbuckers or steel guitar pickups retain their top end treble and sparkle better with higher value pots. Some people will prefer the warmer tone of a 250k though.
