Same here, Dennis. All it says is:Safely remove hardware.I can only download the pics thru My Computer
My wife's camera works fine. It's a Nikon Cool Pix
Mine is a Nikon D70S SLR
I have always run both cameras on the same USB port.It worked fine for years then all of a sudden poof! _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars

It's crazy Bent. I'm not that clever on these things and I sure get lost when it aint right. Nothing comes up on the screen after inserting the card. It used to show me my options. But, no moe. |

I have some cards that only show up if they're in a connected Nikon. Some only in a connected Canon. Some show up in a card reader and some don't. You could try erasing and formatting the card(s) in the camera (after you get the photos off) (don't use the computer to do the formatting). _________________ C#

If you have a multi type card reader installed you may have inadvertently removed it when you did a safe when you did the "safely remove" the last time you used it.
Look at "my computer" and see if the drive letter for the different card reader slots are there.. mine show up as E-F-H-I-J .. your may be different , look for the card type (SD-MMC- MS-CF) etc..
If the only drives showing are your hard drive and CD/DVD then a re boot will bring them back..
of course this may not be the problem , but it's the first that I would look for , |

This problem occurs when I have the card in the camera and the camera connected to the PC in a USB port. Only one Nikon, not the other. I tried formatting like Cal suggested. That doesn't help. I am at a loss as to whether it is a card problem or a USB/pc problem
It's just weird that it works with one camera but not the other. _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars

One thing that sometimes has worked for me is to put it into a card-reader and plug that in (via USB) to the computer, rather than putting the card directly into the computer slot. You might try that if you have a card-reader. _________________ www.JimCohen.com

I have a card from a friend's camera that won't mount using a card reader, but if I put it in a camera and connect that to a comp it shows up. _________________ C#
