Beginners Notes #205-How important can this be?
I've been working on my fills project and haven't posted a Beginners Note in a while. So this morning as I'm grabbing my first cup of coffee, this little repeating riff, jumps into my head, I pull the cover off the old Derby to see what I've got. Interesting.. A four or five note thingie that loves strings 6 through 10. Played quickly it almost sounds like a banjo roll, but not so fast it is interestingly useful. The first note can be moved up or down to give a different feel and the fifth note, if moved can lead you to other territory. This could be useful... Somewhere! Try it, you too might find a use for it. If you do share it with us...
( )=Optional, [ ]=The leading note to the next phrase or riff.

Dick, you're still posting them faster than I can get through them! I really appreciate what you've done with these "Beginner's Notes", I've learned some good stuff. Looking forward to your fills project as well...
Gonna start going through the "Notes" in order now, maybe 3 a week, so I'll need some new ones in, oh, about a year and a half.
But hopefully I won't be such a beginner by then...I just wish most of my days started with "pulling the cover off the old Derby!" Well, I've got the Derby part down, but just an old pillowcase instead of a cover, and I still have that darn job thing getting in the way of practicin'. |

Hey John, sure glad your finding some of my things useful. I've said this before, but it is worth repeating I think. The reason I don't put up audio files with my tab, is because they are meant as ideas and not the where with all. By doing it that way, it leaves the mind open to interject slurs, timing, and expression that an audio file might lock a player into. Not the purpose for my offerings. Like I said once before, they are snip-its, small enough to quickly get your head around. The fills project will be the same way. Mostly intuitive, easy to recall and put to work.
Yesterday I penned the last of the 300 fills. With each of my Beginners Notes Fills e-book, I'll also include bonus material at no cost. Please be patient, I have a lot of details to work out, before it becomes a reality. I do think it will be worth the wait.
Thanks for being there and for the great feed back. I really appreciate it. Email me if I can help in any way.
