Are there different diameter leg clamps available ?
My MSA Legend has larger diameter legs than standard and the clamp on my Freeloader broke.
The MSA leg is 0,985 inches and normal ( my Williams) is 0,875 inches.
(MSA 25,04 mm and Williams 22,24 mm. )
Thanks in advance ! _________________ Olli Haavisto

I imagine you already know this, but many folks use plastic pipe for leg clamping.
Between various types (PVC Schedules 20, 40 or 80, CPVC, PEX), you'll have oodles of sizes.
I also bet Brad would be able to help _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Thanks, that was Brad`s suggestion also. I was just not too sure I could cut it neatly. Any ideas about tools ? _________________ Olli Haavisto

1st choice, reciprocating saw (we call them Sawzall, for the Milwaukee brand that's the best known), as the guard kinda guarantees a straight cut.
Tied for 2nd; A Dremel with cutting wheels and a pocket knife to peel off the burnt bits (the wheel at 30,000 rpm will burn the plastic) and a hacksaw
If you have a plumber friend, there's a special tubing shears for plastic pipe, but they cost 20-25 dollars _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

I cut this stuff quite a bit and beleive in or not a plane ol' wood handsaw does a really good job. put it in a bench vise first for stability. If you are good with shop equipment than a mitre saw will work if you do it slllloooooowwwwwww. and it makes a nice clean cut. |

Olli,
A simple mitre box and fine tooth saw will cut it prefectly. Sandvik makes a saw (#314) that is excellent. Neither are very expensive at hardware stores.
Put a piece of wood in the mitre box, next to the pipe to keep it from moving when you saw. _________________ 1974 Marlen S-12 1968 Tele 1969 Martin D-35H |

Just take the clamp off and use a couple of big fat rubber bands. |

I would sooner use velcro and attach it to the end plate _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
