I made an earlier posting regarding an external 12" speaker cabinet. Now that I've decided on a cabinet I need input on which speaker I should consider.

I'm driving it with a Roland Cube 80XL requiring 8 ohm or less according to the owners manual (not sure about "or less")minimum 80 watts handling capability. One consideration is a Scorpion speaker.

I guess my bucket list includes the following:
1. Tone
2. Cost
2. Weight

When I first started trying to play steel a few months back I was using a Fender 212R which had "Fender Specials" (blue label). Not a bad speaker but the amp was heavy and the amp effects were unpleasant.

Suggestions Idea

Thanks
Chuck

I just got one of those jensen 12 inch Neo's from Ken Fox. 100 watts and really sounds great!Tone is clear and like an alnico when pushed. And light as a feather!137.00 Worth checking into!

I have a Jensen Neo and a Weber NeoMag in my Fender Twin. They seem to complement each other well. The Weber is made to replicate the JBL D120F. It's $160.

So it seems the neo speakers seems to be the favorite thus far. I'll delay buying, waiting on other suggestions. Maybe some offers will pop up Very Happy !

I also like the jensen neos, however if your looking for a lower price I scored a 1203 black widow on Ebay for 46.00 and i really like it.It is heavy but handles allot of power and sounds great.Another more inexpensive option is weber california ceramic.Used ones can be had for well under 100.00.If you need to play with overdrive look for one with a paper dome.
