There's a lot of good steel on this album, and also some of John Hogan's stuff.
Could this be Basil Henriques Question

Might be Richard Nelson? I know he toured with O'Donnell for quite some time.

Yes he did, but being as I produced and played on Daniel's first hit record, I became an established part of the studio side of his recordings 'till the 90's..when I quit session work..
Can't say for sure what albums of Daniel I'm on or not on. Sleeve notes SOMETIMES are informative but not always correct.

And as for John Hogan, I was his band leader and producer for a while in the late 80's. Played on many of his records.
