Is the guitar all original? I.e. Fretboards? Mica? Tuners, etc.
What was the condition of the guitar before Mike Cass worked on it? I.e. Was it simply dusty and dirty? In pieces? Gummed up with the undercarriage tobacco stained? Etc.
What do you know of the general history of the guitar? I.e. Was it played out much? Or did it sit in a closet for most of it's life? Etc.
To me, that is info I'd like to know, if possible, prior to a purchase. I appreciate your reply. Thank you. |

I did not purchase this guitar as a fixer upper.
This PP was in good condition when I bought it and I paid a premium price for it.
Mike Cass adjusted and lubed the changer, buffed the changer fingers, re-jeweled the neck, polished the pedal rack and legs and set my copedent.
This guitar has been in my home since I bought it in early 2011.
Why am I selling this guitar?
While I appreciate the great sound of this guitar, I have been playing all-pull guitars my whole life and find that is where I am comfortable. |

I love playing that old style wide pedal spacing.
I'm lucky to have a few really great modern guitars, but the ol' push pull (mine is #1263) never fails to bring a smile.
Apart from the great (unique) tone/overtone/note release/sustain, etc...there is something very satisfying about playing a piece of history.

That guitar looks simply - perfect!!!!
I'm immune from temptation, though, because of the fact that it would need to be turned around and 'Day-ised' before it'd be any good to me; that really would put it beyond my reach.
I can still look, though, can't I? _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

Charlie, probably none of my business but, from looking at the pics ,the serial number looks to be 1424 which indicates midway through the year 1970. Wish I could buy it but, I already have one. |

I started to fill out a check to buy the guitar BUT I noticed a speck of dust in one of the pictures so I am having second thoughts.
This thing looks mint, I was blown away by the pictures. Hang in there someone WILL buy it, maybe my Portland friends Matt or Ken, then we Portland PP geeks can go over and test drive it.

Now this guitar is THE deal. Very cool. Like John said, I love those pedals; the spacing and the ergonomic shape... best ever designed far as I'm concerned. I have a '72 Rosewood Fatback with six knees, same pedals. This black, beauty has got to sound just wonderful. Very, very nice.
Sincerely,
Chris "Tiny" O. |
