I tried to play along to the track "Grand Junction" from the first Poco album. 'though Rusty Young plays mostly dobro on this track, there's also steel.
The song is in G- sharp. I tuned the steel down a half step and doing so I could move the bar one fret up and play it in A. In doing so, it also has the advantige of being in the open position.
Also the elect. guitar solo is easier to play (not me yet), having the open A string.
I didn't go into the trouble to adjust the pedals.
Question: Am I on the right track? _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

Hei Jo -
I had the same experience on "Bad Weather:" moving it to the key of A opened up all the open string unisons that are on the record - sounded much better, truer. |

Yes Frank, and on the song before that- "Pickin' up the pieces" it's the same thing. Doesn't sound right in the key of B. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |
