Looking good, George. Are you going to bring some of those new steels to Dallas?

I have been Developing a New Hum Rejecting S8 Pickup with Lindy Fralin, the Sample should be on their work table or better on it's way to me by now.
Once I get it - The Details will be revealed in this thread and the Blog too.
I can say now that it is Custom Made for GeorgeBoards -- has Alnico 5 Mags -- is a straight line -- will be very similar to my Super Sonic Retro 57 Strat pickups that have helped make my reputation over the last 18 years.
In the Mean While I just came in from Spraying the Base Coat for the BEST SOUNDING COLOR on a production sample.
I will be blowing this one out at 1/2 price to generate some cash flow and to make some one a very good deal too. Deposit Invited !!

|
|
I've heard it said that YOU intend having iluminated fret boards on these new guitars.
Is that TRUE or FALSE?
Are you going to have the jack for the cord hidden from view behind a leg...........or are you going to leave it exposed to the audience on the side away from the player? |

Posted 5 Feb 2012 8:36 pm More Information -- 1 Size Fits All -- Several Scale Lengths
|
|
We discontinued the Lighted Fret Boards long ago -- I made over 100 guitars set up for them and Zero people wanted them.
Now I have a New Laser Etched, NON Glare Polycarbonate that is beautiful and can be custom etched for endless marker designs.
We also have New Retro String Master FretBoards made by Steel Guitar North County, (Jim Palenscar) that are seriously nice looking.
On this production Sample we will be utilizing our DIY fretboard that is a peel and Stick unit. I can have clear plexi made to go over these that look really great.
It is becoming obvious that this new instrument has many aspects of "1 Size Fits All" eg; Numerous Fret Board options -- Change out Pickups at will, no more need to keep buying steel guitars with Fixed Pickups.
The Output Jack can be set up on the Butt End away from the player, also I can set the output straight down, near the Butt end. The output can be on either side if ordered that way -but- No need to place it on the front or back side, which we do not care for. As soon as I set up the Black Sample, these details will be chronicled.
1 more secret is now revealed : After I get the 22.5" scale model all sus-ed out and 4-6 samples built,
we already have CNC Programming for the 24.5" Scale and the 26".
These new "GeorgeMasters" walk in the foot prints of Fender and other desirable vintage steels -- only much better with many of the best desired features we always wished for. _________________ GeorgeBoards S8 Non Pedal Steel Guitar Instruments

Hello Steve
For these Mill Samples I am using Tulip Poplar AAA Grade. It cuts clean and has slightly softer than Maple Tone quality.
On these Samples we have pre-drilled for 3 Flanges and Legs. Set up for a S8 Guitar. The Near Future D8-T8-Q8 will all have 4 legs.
I can install them or it is very easy to do at home.
We direct the buyer to the legs and flanges to avoid having me double ship them passing the saving on to the client.

George, those are some fine looking slabs of Liriodendron tulipifera.

I'd love to see one done in a transparent color stain rather than opaque paint. Here's mine (vintage 2007)
, perhaps you remember it? Thanks George for your help with it. _________________ Dennis
