In May of 2008 I sold my beautiful Zumsteel triple neck pedal steel to help pay some medical bills that I had at the time. The gentleman who purchased the guitar, who's name escapes me, had told me at the time he bought it that if I ever wanted it back that he would gladly sell it back to us for what he gave for it. My problem is that now that I'm in a possition to do that we can't find the info on the buyer. Joan and I have been searching for the buyers name and phone number with no luck.
I'm asking my forum friends if any of you are friends or are aqainted with the current owner could you please either contact me or have the owner contact me. My email is: turnupthesteel.cox@gmail.com
here are a couple photos.
Thanks, Johnny

I hope you find her Johnny...she's a beaut and I'm guessing one of a kind? Hopefully the gentleman will get in touch with you and allow you to get her back. Good luck! Carl |

Tony, the extra neck was E13th. I had four floor pedals & four knees as I remember. _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox

Thanks Johnny. Having C6 too, what songs did you used it on ? Swing, jazz, country ? I'm not getting anywhere on C6 and have thought about E6 or E13. I've played E9 30 plus years and I don't have alot of extra time to work on C6 and E13 being close to E9, maybe that would be a shortcut.

Tony, I put the tuning on after hearing Tom Morrell play it at the Dallas show. He played such cool stuff with it. Of coarse it was all western swing and thats what I used the tuning for as well. The third through the sixth string are basically E6th. _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox

The current owner of the triple neck has contacted me and agreed to sell it back to me. I'll be putting some items up for sale and bringing her home very soon. Thanks for your help guys. _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox

Johnny, thanks and glad you're getting it back. Do you have E13 on the C neck of any of your guitars ?

Tony, on Curly's guitar I have it on the back neck where Curly had his E9th. I have E9th pedals on the tuning in this application. Normally I would have more C6th type pedal changes on the tuning. _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox

Very happy for you, Johnny, that you've relocated the guitar. Equally curious as to where it was; you gonna tell us, or is that a state secret? Anyway, I like happy endings (and turnarounds)... _________________ www.JimCohen.com

Back then, I remember this guitar being an issue with Bruce, regarding the decision to custom build it or not. It's a very special guitar, and Johnny is probably the only customer/friend that he would ever build it for. Johnny, I'm happy to hear it found it's way back home. Bob is smiling at you from above. |
