Amazing, both of them. Credit where credit is due.......I wonder if he has a Pedal steel. 
Years ago in London at the Sho-Bud shop, An African chief dressed in all his regalia went up to my friend Ron who was running the shop and asked to see the most expensive steel in the shop. Ron sat him behind a D-10 Sho-Bud. The guy had his feet just beside him, strummed a chord and said "I'll take it" He then pulled out a wad of notes from his pocket, as Ron packed the steel in the case, and off went the "chief" ....quick sale  ...weather he could "really" play it?? who knows

I had the privilege of seeing Mr. Bhattacharya perform 5 or 6 years ago. I sat in the front row so I could see his hands. He was just as astounding then as he is in the video.
It was a great concert.

Hi Micky,
In the case of the African chief, he was quite likely a band sponsor. Often times, up-and-coming bands can't afford to spend the money to outfit an entire band with instruments. A wealthy patron/sponsor buys and owns the instruments that the band will use. After the band reaches a certain level of commercial success, the band leader eventually buys his own instruments. |
