I know someone was compiling a list of Sho~Bud serial numbers based on info given to us for a while by a man who had the factory records.
Would anyone be willing to guess on my "Professional"?
It is of course a D-10 8X6. I know 2 of the levers have been added. It most likely came with 2, but 4 of them have been on there a long time.
Like most of the R&B guitars, this one is a real tone monster.

Serial number is 4219

Tobacco color.

Thanks in advance!

Justin, mine is a Cherry Red # 4359. Built spring of '73. Yours, probably January - February or so, of 1973. Just guessing. Michael Yahl is the one working on compiling a database on these numbers.

Take a look at this interesting thread. You should be able to get a window on a possible build date. I'm sure Michael will come along soon.Smile

I stand corrected! Cool! Thanks CrowBear. I didn't know Don had that page up. I guess mine was the fall of '73. Looks like it was the end of October.Very Happy

Here are the details for my two Buds

1 ) LDG model 6150 S/N 9387 ordered directly from the factory and signed by Pete. Gumby headstock, and wide pedals with tear drop Knees

2) Pro III custom with aluminum necks 8 x 4 wide pedals, teardrop knees, Brown colour, Gumby headstock, Signed by Duane Marrs s/n 6568

If Michael can give me their Date of births, that would be cool

Thanks RC

Ronald,

Your LDG seems to have been made around August or September 1975 and the craftsman should have been Duane Marrs.

Your PRO-III Custom is a little bit older, seemingly from around November or early December 1974, surely also by Duane Marrs.

If you want, I can send you an Excel file I've computed from the Gene Haugh thread and you'll see by yourself (I just added your 2 guitars in it). Just drop me a PM with your email address.

Best,

ayp

I have LDG #4363. It's a round front with barrels and 2-hole pullers and round cross shafts. Michael Yahl didn't have anything on that steel, but had two whose serial numbers bracketed it. He put the build date of mine on October 29, 1973. There is no sticker or label on my LDG.
