I've been a fan of saxophonist Lester Young almost as long as I have loved Jerry Byrd, so I created a sax/lap steel duet for "I Can't Get Started." I'm using my Ricky Frypan and King tenor sax for this one. Thanks to Jim and Barbara Stahlhut for the idea and music and to Billie Holiday for the inspiration.

Chuck,

This one had me floating in cotton-ball paradise. Beautifully done, loved the controlled dynamics and the contrast in timbre between steel and the sax. And a fresh tune.

Make a CD with steel 'n sax! Its a well kept secret that they go wonderfully well together.

Bravo!

Kay

Thanks, guys. I love the lyrical quality that the lap steel brings to any song. Don and Kay, you're right-the sax and steel make ideal musical companions.

Thanks, guys and gal. Songs with pretty melodies like I Can't Get Started make perfect instrumentals.
