There are so many things you can do with this. After having fooled around with this for about a month, I'm ready to get myself a more elaborate system and hopefully develop the ability to do live solo sets. I know there are plenty of people who do this, I have my own way of wanting to do it and I think it will be hip.
Anyway, get yourself one of these and develop your ability to play rhythm guitar and bass parts on your steel.

I too think these are great practice tools.
Years ago I did a ton of live solo shows using the rack mounted JamMan and Echoplex. I got away from these gigs and the gear that went with them. About a year ago I picked up the Digitech Jamman pedal and have been using it just for practicing and writing in the studio. It has been an invaluable (and fun) tool - whether to just get something up quick to play against, or write and work out parts to a new tune. It is amazing how much is crammed into these new batch of pedals compared what was in the rack mounted units.

Dan, right now I'm looking at a Boomerang III and possibly the new Pigtronix Infinity. I need to have a multitrack looper that I can use to build tunes in a live setting and then control the individual parts. I'd like to do some solo stuff like this.

Ive got the Digitech JamMan (discontinued) and added a 2 gig memory card. It stores 6.5 hours at 24 bits. Ive done some gigs on keyboard and guitar with it. I plug the keyboard (Korg X-50) into the 1/4" input jack and the guitar thru a direct box into the XLR input. This way I can start with either and add the other after, then improvise over both as the loop plays. It helps to concentrate on playing well the first time and also getting the timing right hitting the pedal when you loop. Once you get a good loop going its a whole lot of fun to improvise over. Its also handy as a sketch pad for recording ideas as they hit you. Between this and the Zoom R16, its easier to forget about being a recording engineer for a while and just have fun making and recording music!

You must be pysched to get your hands on one of these. Makes me dream of taking the live looping out of retirement. I hadn't heard of the Pigtronix Infinity - that is a pretty sweet pedal! Have you seen a price on it yet?

It just hit me!
Was just in the shower and listening to my son playing piano. 'who parked the car..I did' 'who parked the car..I did'--- Take 5---!!
You could play piano tunes with that looper. Why not play the whole Bass clef on track 1, then come over the top with the treble on track 2.
I bet some people are doing it already, just occurred to me.
