If you missed being there last night you missed a good one. There was great steel playing , great fellowship and a lot of fun. Chubby Howard, Smiley Roberts and Bill Poe played a nice collection of tunes on the first set. Bobbie Seymour and Stu Basore played the second set. Both of these guys are Pro's, and their playing showed why they are in demand for session and road work. Good job guys!!! Last on the show was Jim Vest and the Nashville Cat's. I remember seeing them when I came to Nashville back in the Seventys and they didn't miss a note even though Jim Vest said he hadn't sit behind his guitar in three months. We had Jan Jones on drums, Cliff Parker on guitar, Rod Hamm on bass, Walt Cunningham on piano and one of my favorite ladies Diane Jordan on vocal. What a group and what a night. My thanks to the back up band of Rick Vaungh, Earl Erb and Dennis Crouch and to all the players and singers. Also my thanks to my friend Rob Parker for singing with Bobbie and Stu. |
