I'm just finish this lap steel, so I'd like to have your opinion.
The HE (Hawaiiana elettrica - italian)25 is an electric lap steel with a wide and complex range of sounds, thanks to dual pickups and, mainly, to the tone chambers routed in the body, that conjure with the partly wooden bridge to give it a dynamic response similar to that of an acoustic instrument. The 25" scale, as in acoustic Hawaiian and resonator guitars, make it ideal for the acoustic player who wants to add an electric colour to his/her sonic palette, or looking for a sligtly different sound.
Perfect for the use in a mainly acoustic context, or for those music styles not strictly related with a mainstream lap steel sound, but even capable of substituting your typical electric lap steel.
It's the most versatile instrument in Reani Guitars range.

Beautiful!! And I love steel guitars with a neck and a bridge pickup. The neck pickup offers such a nice clear but mellow tone.

... I totally agree with you, some customers just want to ask me only the neck pick up http://www.reaniguitars.com/2012/01/francesco-piu-signature/

I like a guitar with two pickups myself. The Asher Electro Hawaiian Junior is a good example of such a guitar. Your lap steel looks like a beautiful instrument.

Ciao Bob,

Another beautiful instrument! I'm actually staying in Como for the next few months. I'd love to have the chance to try out your new instrument (or any of your instruments) if it's possible.

cordiali saluti,
Laurence

Here is a picture of my encounter with a forumite Laurence which has gone in my workshop.
It 'was a very enjoyable afternoon, we discussed a lot about guitars, tone bars and music and had fun (I hope for Laurence - Laughing ) to try my guitars.

Hey there,

I had lots of fun!

Bob is making some great guitars in the idyllic lakeside town of Moltrasio. That lap steel I'm holding in the picture is something really potent, very lively indeed... and a convincing argument for a two pickup instrument. Behind me in the photo are three Reanni Weissenborn style guitars (there's a teardrop model almost completely hidden), and each one is really lovely; each with it's own voice and personality.
