Was there steel on the record?
Ask Mickey to make a tutorial: I saw on his channel that he has some other Dead tutorials on guitar, he probably knows it.
My personal choice, if I were to play that song, would be to make up something of my own, drawing HEAVILY on licks from Buddy Cage and Mooney (and maybe Sarah Jory, but I think I'd steer clear of modern licks). That song needs BUBBLY. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Have you tried searching the Tablature section of the Forum? It may be there.
That's a good place to make your request, also. |

You're right, David, and perhaps this should get moved there.
A forum search came up empty¹. Perhaps I'll Google it out on the rest of the net.
EDIT: This link turned up on a Google search for "steel guitar" tab "Mexicali Blues", but it didn't render anything useful under Opera for Android. Apparently the web designer is more impressed with toys than making sure more folk can see it.
Maybe it'll work for you: www.tabcrawler.com/search.php?q=eyes%20of%20the%20devil&search=SCAN!&page=4
¹An interesting thread on Jerry came up. His skills as both a steel player and guitar slinger were dismissed.
IMO, his talent as a musician came from his taste, judgment, phrasing and timing.
He took limited skills and chops and made some damn good music. TYC sounds like a beginner played it; it was rough, crude and filled with the licks we all learned in our first three weeks. But each fit nicely where he put 'em. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

According to http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ace_(Bob_Weir_album) (yeah, not an unimpeachable source), Jerry only played steel on "Looks Like Rain".
So you get to write your own part. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
