Just got stage one guitar a couple months ago around Sept/Oct and I gotta say this is a great guitar. Its my first pedal steel and before I use to play uncles Zum Steel but it terms of sound/tone, the Stage One is pretty close considering the price gap between the 2 guitars. But I must say I love it and thanks Doug! Heres a vid I just made with it for those who may want to hear it: http://youtu.be/hvn4vM_hwBY

Cool COOL VIDEO ! Cool
Smile WELCOME TO THE CLUB Smile I've had my S/O since June of 2010 , and love it !
Every once and awhile my steel player takes a turn on it instead of his Carter or MCI D-10s and he's impressed with it too!
CONGRATS !

Kevin I can ASSURE!! You My friend There is NONE! NOTTA! NOT ANY! lack of Quality in the stage one Guitar Mad just because its cheaper than most.. (Maybe he's on to something) I have seen First hand with my own eyes and hands in some cases the quality and love Doug Ernest Puts into EACH AND EVERY Guitar That leaves his shop. infact they dont Even get a LOGO installed until they have been played ,tuned and played some more and personally rubbed down and gone over by doug himself to insure they are Flawless in workmanship and cosmetics.. Marcus enjoy your new Guitar dont let the chosen few sway your opinion if its a stage one its a goddun!!

If I got a stage one I would replace those "aluminum channel" like pedals - they might work ok, but they sure look very el cheapo!!

Marcus, it looks like you are getting along very well with your new guitar. Keep it up! Nothing wrong with using a wah wah pedal to serve the Lord.

TB - I did replace the aluminum channel pedals about a year ago, just haven't had the opportunity to put new pictures up on the website. The old pedals did work fine, but your description of el cheapo looking was appropriate. The same pedal as used on the mighty ZumSteel are now standard equipment.

Boo - Kevin is a good supporter of the Stage One, you may have misinterpreted his comment! Easy to do on the web. Thanks for your help this summer, and for the private concerts. I bet Buddy Charleton is proud of you. And you are a fine rod threader, even better than Tyler Hall. (Sorry Tyler....) But not as good as Eddie Lane. The truth sometimes hurts.

Thanks to all the Stage One customers this year. The increase in business was tremendous, best year ever by far. As Michael Douchette mentioned, stay tuned for further developments - there will be an announcement in the new products section in the near future. For now we will just say that Mr. Zumsteg has been up to his magic again!! Cool

Happy New Year!

Thanks for the video Marcus, you sound great! I've had my Stage One for few months now and I am more in love with it now then I was when I got it. Can't say enough postive things about it. I got the nice pedals too!

Hi Marcus. I am glad to see another new/young steeler on the forum. Keep practicing hard man! It's very rewarding! You guys are really getting my attention with all of this stageone talk. I already love Zumsteels but my accountant(wife) doesnt for some reason Laughing . I might just order one up some point in the near future. Cool

What colours can you get them in?

Where did I say that there was a lack of quality? Quite the opposite. I said for the cost of the guitar the quality was there. ?????

Kevin when you wrote for the" MONEY" " VERSES" Quality well to me it read that you might be questioning the quality of the guitar . If that was not your intention then I apologize for calling it to attention maybe a different tone than "VERSES would have been clearer to at least me.. again sorry!! I still stand that the same Quality and workmanship goes into dougs guitar as any other brand on the market today .he just found away to do it on a budget.

Mike I am aware of the things Doug and Bruce have been woodsheddin and yes they are on to something pretty Cool ! Winking

I think that the Stage One is the best entry level guitar on the market. They sound great and play great. I always recommend them for people who have a budget in that price range. Doug makes a fine product.
