I'm building a 6-string lap steel, and it's routed and set up for a normal guitar humbucker. Jason Lollar has recommended a couple of his that sound interesting. Can anyone also recommend a humbucker that would be lap-steel friendly. The guitar is for my wife. She really likes Jerry Byrd's tone.

The pickups Jason recommended are his El Rayo for a brighter, more single coily sound and the High Wind Imperial for a darker, more pedal steely tone.

Thanks,
Brad

Bryan Gunsher winds some fabulous pups....I have his pups on 3 of my steels.

You said humbucker.......so I'd recommend The Lizard because it's great for CLEAN tones...nice and creamy.

Or....the BG Bucker might be good too with the additional advantage of being splittable.

Hopefully, Tom Pettingill will chime in with an opinion as he deals with Bryan alot.
