UPDATE..............

As of now she is somewhat stabilized with the meds.Motor functions are slowly seeming to be coming back in her hand...The Dr. says they are going to wait until Wed.. to do any more testing in order to give a few days to see what functions are going to come back and how much on their own...

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and thoughts..Keeping this on top.....

GOD BLESS

We are finally home.. Much discouraged because we dont know what is going on and it seems we can not find any answers..
We go back to the doctors tomorrow for test results and probably another battrey of tests. Right now all we know is they will not rule out the possibility of stroke but according to what we are told as of now there are lesions on her brain that are inconclusive as to the cause.they are still saying it is not uncommon in stroke, M.S. or even Lyme Disease or other mysterious nurologic disorder.

All I can tell you is this..We have no insurance and with what little the shop has been able to manage , this is putting a HUGE financial strain on us..As of now we are told we are in excess of $65k in test and other expendatures...
We will be having ( with the help of friends) a benefit and silent auction at the dinner/theater where I was playing until I had to sell my equipment to keep from bankrupting the shop earlier this year..( sometimes you ask how much can you take.
Anyway.......If anyone has any thing you would like to donate feel free. we have been told of opry tickets, dinner gifts , music etc. that are going to be donated..
Also I have been asked to pick up the picks again and start playing in an effort to help this cause..However, the small problem I have is that I am tapped out and cannot run out and buy equipment.(if I did have the money it would go to the wolf at the door) so I ask if anyone has a psg, pedals, bar etc that you would be willing to donate or loan please let me know..I know this is a long shot but right now I am willing to try anything if it means my wife can get better..feel free to contact me with questions or comments.
Thanks so much for your prayers and concerns
David and Tina

Just back from the doctor and the info given is now more confusing than ever..
Being referred to Vanderbilt in Nashville for a consultation within the month for a consultation with the nurology team there..Doctors here seem to be afaid to doany more tests or find a definite cause of what is going on......

To Whom It May Concern,

As I write this to you I find myself stepping out on a limb into the great unknown.
My name is David Beckner from Dawson Springs Ky.I am 42 , a musician who plays guitar, pedal steel and dobro..I was playing 3 nights a week at a local diner/ theater until this summer when in an effort to save my failing business and keep from losing everything we owned I was forced into selling all of my musical equipment and had to quit the music I so dearly loved.
My wife and I live in a 1970's mobile home we repaired and set on her parent's property. We own a 1981 pickup that we hope gets us from point A to point B evrytime we get in it..I own a small business that I operate out of the extra room we have in a garage. It is an upholstery business that I make covers for amps and other musical needs, along with an occasional car seat or boat seat repair. It brings in around $350.00 which barely keeps the utility bills paid..My wife has been employed as cleaning houses, crafting etc. which has been able to bring in a little extra to provide.

To get to the point of this letter...On December 5, I awoke to find my wife in a semi-concious state, unable to speak and paralyzed 80% on her right side..She was rushed to the local hospital where after a few days stay her blood pressure was stabilized with the help of medications. After a battary of tests , the Dr. says she didnt have a stroke but rather has an unknown nurologic disorder that needs far more better treatment and care than what can be provided at the local clinic or hospital..They say she has a long rode ahead of her with reab in spach and physical therapy..
They are also referring her to Vanderbilt in Nashville Tn to meet with a nurologic team there to determine a cause. As of now the initial diagnosis is M.S ...possibly in advanced stages.
We have no insurance and have reached out to various organizations for some help in financial aid , but, we have been turned down..We have tried to get some type of disability for her but because the Dr."s are still uncertain about a 100% diagnosis they are are refusing this as well.
The diner/theater where I was playing are planning a benefit and silent auction on her behalf to help in some small way of offsetting these costs.
They have been gracious enough to ask me to come back as a member of the house band in an effort to make extra money , but due to the fact that I no longer have any equipment I have yetr to be able to return to the job..
As I stated we are basically penniless and with all the therapies and such and the lack of a vehicle, it forces me to spend what little I can muster to provide a rental car and such to transport her to and fro.
It leaves me in a state of helplessness not knowing where or how to turn for help. If I had the money it would be easy to go out and purchase musical equipment , go back playing and making the money we so despereately need at this moment and time.
I humbly ask if you can find it in your heart to donate any equipment to help it would most greatly be appreciated. I am not asking for 'top of the line stuff' just something that would be useful in helping provide income to some one who is reachig out for you help..
Sincerely and God Bless

David,

I don't have a steel to donate but I have a Peavey 12 Channel Powered PA complete worth $1200.00 to $1400.00 I would trade with someone that has a decent steel with needed accessaries they would be willing to give you in exchange for the PA if they can come to central Iowa to pick up the PA.
The cover you made for me for my Peavey 112 is very nice. Thanks.
Someone out there should have a mechanically sound steel though, maybe not excellent appearing that would be a workhorse for you .

Please contact David if you have a steel that would work for him and describe it to David and if it is something that will work for him and is of reasonable value in exchange, with David's acceptance and approval of the steel I will work out the details with the party to pick up the PA or perhaps ship at their request if need be.
God Bless you and Family and see to your wife's complete healing.
Our Prayers will be with you.
