...Neither one of these are my picks for 'best solo' or, favorites, in particular.
They are both fitting, and appropriate for each song.

| Nothing Can Hurt You by Lloyd Green....featuring Ricky Skaggs. Also I like Paul's solo on Keith Whitley's I'm No Stranger to the Rain because of the difficulty in playing that well in tune with a piano....or at least it is for me. |

"Sweet Memories" by Jeff Newman live at the PSGA show in Conn.
Also by Jeff "City of New Orleans" live
on the same day.
They are far and above anything I've heard live since.
His talent as a player was much underated.

There are so many great players such as John Hughey,Buddy E.,LLoyd Green, Hal Ruggs,and to many more to mention, all of them having their individual styles,I can`t pick just one. I am still playing gig`s and hear so many people that don`t know what the Pedal Steel Guitar is or how it is played,but they just love the sound that the steel produces weather it is country or any other style of music. In my opinion there is no other instument that can give the sounds and voicing that the Pedal Steel brings for our listening pleasure. I could go on forever, enough said.

Best ever, surely not but a darn good one, Lloyd Green on his Revisited album on So Sad with Junior Brown on vocals. Very relevant solo and track.
It would also be hard to forget Jerry Garcia on Teach Your Children. It did it for me and for millions.
And what about Buddy Emmons in Night Life. Magical.

Most of the time, It's whatever I am listening to at the time. There are so many great solos. I have to always go back to "I Just Destroyed the World" Twitty/Hughey and "Farewell Party" with Lloyd. Another that gives me chills was Martina McBride's "She Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" with Charlie Whitten on steel. Those 3 make me wet my pants.
